<p>A process for the removal of ammonia from waste water comprising the step of passing the waste water through a moving bed biofilm reactor under limited oxygen conditions and in the presence of ammonium ion oxidising organisms. The organisms may be Nitrosomonas europea, Nitrosomonas eutropha or Thiosphera pantopha. The biofilm is supported on small carrier elements.</p> |
