Method of assembling series of cartons into a single package by the application of adhesive

A series of cartons proceed individually along a line on which they are packed with the relevant product. After leaving the packing station, each carton halts at a sideways transfer station at which an adhesive is applied to one face in the direction of travel. The carton then resumes its movement to the end-stop. When a group of cartons has assembled at the end- stop, the final carton is pushed hard against the group of waiting cartons.
