Clutch pressure-plate assembly

A housing fixed to the flywheel turns with it and sliding in the axial direction towards the flywheel under the action of a preferably diaphragm-type spring. In the path of the latter is a mechanism adjusting for wear and with a movable component pre-loaded in the adjusting direction. A detector indicates the wear on the friction linings between the pressure plate and flywheel and works with the adjusting mechanism. The detector has a locking member engaging detachably so as to prevent movement of the adjusting component in the adjusting direction, also a wear-detector freeing the adjusting component when wear takes place.
