PURPOSE:To prevent the clogging of the passage of a stapler by mounting a cam capable of moving a paper detecting lever to a paper detecting position before the stapler reaches a clinch position on a slide frame loaded with the stapler and sliding the stapler between a standby position and the clinch position. CONSTITUTION:When a slide frame 33 is slid to move a stapler 32 from a standby position to a clinch position, cams 44, 60 operates paper detecting levers 82, 87 before the clinching operation of the stapler 32 in the front stage reaching the clinch position and the presence of the paper on a delivery tray is detected by the paper detecting levers 82, 87. As a result, when the paper on the delivery tray is not detected, the driving of a motor driving the slide frame 33 is stopped or an abnormality alarm is generated on the basis of a detection signal and the blind stapling of the stapler can be prevented. By this method, it can be certainly prevented that the stapler 32 remains on a magazine side by blind stapling to clog the passage of the stapler 32. |
