PURPOSE:To readily and surely join superconducting wire materials each other by applying a mixture of composition powder having a composition equivalent to a superconducting wire material and a binder to the opposite end faces of superconducting wire materials and sintering the mixture in specific conditions and then gradually cooling the sintered material while making adsorb oxygen. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of composition powder 3 compounded so as to become a composition ratio equivalent to that of superconducting wire materials 1 and 1 and a binder such as an organic solvent is applied to the opposite end faces 2 and 2 of the superconducting wire materials 1 and 1 and a joint part 4 is formed by bringing the opposite end faces into contact with each other. Then the joint part 4 is heated at a temperature lower than melting point of composition powder 3 while retaining contact state of opposite end faces 2 and 2 of the superconducting wire materials 1 and 1 to sinter the composition powder 3 between both opposite end faces 2 and 2 and the joined material is gradually cooled while carrying out sufficient oxygen absorption in atmosphere or under partial pressure of oxygen to form a continuous body 1' of the super conducting material between opposite end faces 2 and 2. |
