Adjustment data input device

The input device has a manually operable rotary knob (3), which can be rotated inside a stop limited angular section (4), for the incremental or the decremental influencing of the setting value. An indicating element electronically indicates the vale set by the adjusting element e.g. a potentiometer. A central edge section (9) of the knob, enables a fine adjustment to be made, proportional to the rotation angle alteration of the knob. The outerlying rotation angle edge sections (8) are subdivided in to several sub sections. The alteration speed of the adjustment value speed is constant in a first inner rotation angle sub section (11). The alteration speed of the adjustment value can be increased according to a rotation angle increasing outwards, in a second outer angle of rotation sub section (12).
