Apparatus for use in pest extermination includes a tube (10) one end of which is connected by a flexible supply pipe to a blower (19) and the other end of which is connected to a flexible discharge pipe. The tube (10) is secured to a cover member (23) for closing the top of a container for a powder (15) and the wali of the tube (10) and the cover member (23) are formed with inlet and outlet apertures (12 and 13). A movable closure member (34) is provided for closing the inlet and outlet apertures (12 and 13). The interior of the tube (10) is provided with means (11) generating turbulent flow within the tube such that, when the closure member (34) is in its open position, a proportion of the air flowing through the tube (10) is caused to pass through the inlet aperture (12) into the container (14) and to exit through the outlet aperture (13) taking some of the powder (15) with it. |
