PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain density correction data with a prescribed accuracy without incurring increase in the capacity of a memory storing a density measured value in the case of generating the density correction data for gamma correction. SOLUTION: An estimated gamma curve for Y, C colors is obtained by plotting density measurement points that are equal to both the colors (steps S201-S203), a sum of errors between an object gamma curve and the estimated gamma curve for each color is obtained (step S204), a prescribed number of the density measurement points is allotted to each color depending on the error, and a 2nd estimate gamma curve is obtained by allotting the density measurement points with an allotted number to each area depending on the error of each area divided in response to an input value for each color (steps S205-S210), and the density correction data for each input value are generated depending on the error between the estimate gamma curve and the object gamma curve. |
