PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a dry layer having superior physical properties and chemical characteristics such as trarnsparency, wear resistance, coefft. of friction, triboelectric charges and barrier characteristics by coating a substrate with a specified aq. coating compsn. and drying the compsn. SOLUTION: The image forming element has a substrate, at least one image forming layer and an auxiliary layer formed by coating the substrate with a coating compsn. contg. a fluoroolefin-vinyl ether copolymer latex in an aq. medium and drying the compsn. The fluoroolefin-vinyl ether copolymer contains fluoroolefin monomer units and vinyl ether monomer units and may further contain a small amt. of other copolymerizable monomer components such as α-olefins, cycloolefins and an unsatd. carboxylic acid. |
