<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a viewer to recognize a video image normally and to avoid provision of a sense of displeasure even when the viewer does not wear any special eyeglasses. SOLUTION: When a viewer 24 wears an eyeglasses 12, a push switch 22 is depressed by the forehead of the viewer and closed, a light emitting sensor 16 is lighted and a signal denoting that the viewer wears the eyeglasses to a light receiving sensor provided to a monitor. Then a video selection circuit of the monitor receives a signal from the light receiving sensor, selects a stereoscopic video image and displays the stereoscopic image on the monitor. On the other hand, when the viewer takes off the eyeglasses, the push switch is open and the light emission of the light emitting sensor is stopped. Then the video selection circuit selects a 2D video image and displays the 2D video image on the monitor. When the viewer wears a special eyeglasses that is a liquid crystal shutter eyeglasses, the light emitting sensor is controlled in response to on/off of the shutter power switch or the video selection circuit may be controlled by the presence of reflection in a reflection plate provided to the special eyeglasses.</p> |
