PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high speed pulse train in which amplitude fluctuation between pulses and jitter component are suppressed by providing an optical transmission path of a specified length for emphasizing a repeating frequency component and harmonic components of integer times and attenuating other frequency components. SOLUTION: A mode synchronization laser 2 to be controlled outputs a pulse train where jitter component is suppressed but amplitude fluctuation is not negligible. An optical pulse train having repetitive frequency of frt/N, where jitter component is suppressed but amplitude fluctuation is not negligible, is injected through an optical joint B into a transmission path 3. Since the fiber length Z is set at Z=Zp/2N, the transmission path 3 outputs an optical pulse train having repetitive frequency frt from the output end. Furthermore, only the harmonic component of frequency frt is emphasized and other frequency components are attenuated thus obtaining an optical pulse train in which jitter component and amplitude fluctuation are suppressed. |
