PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily attain the input of various character kinds by displaying any one conversion candidate arbitrarily selected from among various kinds of conversion candidates displayed on a conversion candidate displaying means as a conversion character string corresponding to an input Japanese syllabary character string. SOLUTION: A conversion candidate extracted from a conversion dictionary 4, and a conversion candidate prepared by a CPU 3 are outputted to an output buffer 6, converted into character data by a display controlling part 8, and display on a display part 9. Therefore, a user can judge whether or not conversion into a desired character kind can be executed by looking at the content displayed on the display part 9. Then, when the conversion into the desired character kind is attained, the user operates an execution key 1D, and confirms the converted content. Therefore, when a Japanese syllabary character string with foreign language reading is inputted, and a converting instruction is operated, a KATAKANA character string in which the Japanese syllabary character string is expressed with KATAKANA characters or a foreign word corresponding to the Japanese syllabary character string can be immediately obtained. |
