<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method which is suitable for controlling a stress state when a stress distribution is changed and which can control the stress distribution automatically, without a time delay and at small structural costs. SOLUTION: In a method, a stress distribution in a metal belt material 1 or a metal sheet material which is composed especially of a nonferromagnetic material, e.g. a nonferrous metal, is controlled when the material is passed through a belt-material treatment facility. When the method is executed, at least one linear motor 3 which is provided with a stator 4 and with an armature 1 is installed in one or more facility sections 2. The stator 4 is arranged so as to be directed to the transverse direction or the longitudinal direction regarding the passage direction L of the metal belt material 1 or the metal sheet material which constitutes the armature 1. Thereby, in the facility sections 2, a stress in the belt material is intensified or weakened in a noncontact manner in the longitudinal direction and the transverse direction according to the flow direction of electric power or a current which is supplied to the stator 4.</p> |
