PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a bilayer glass having reduced degradation with the passage of time of heat-insulating activities and improved dewfall-preventing activities, and capable of increasing proportion of aperture of a glass face by using aerogel comprising silica fine particles as a light-transmitting and heat-insulating material for the bilayer glass obtained by installing spacer members between mutually facing two glass plates and filling the space between the two glass plates with the light-transmitting and heat-insulating material and a resin sealing material. SOLUTION: This bilayer glass is obtained by using silica fine particles having particle diameters smaller than the wave length of a visual light, aerogel having about 0.1 specific gravity, and forming spacer members 2 between glass plates 1 and heat-insulating layer 7. For keeping the heat-insulating layer 7 in air-tight state, contacting parts of the spacer members 2 and the glass plates 1, and outer periphery parts of the spacer members 2 are sealed with a resin sealing material 8 and 9 (e.g. a butyl rubber). The aerosol comprising the silica fine particles as the light-transmitting and heat insulating material constituting the heat-insulating layer 7 forms ultrafine porous body excellent in uniformity by gathering the silica fine particles. The particle diameter of the silica fine particle is, for example, 3×10<-6> mm. |
