PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a joint stripe at the time of multi-scanning by beading characteristics in an image recording apparatus and a recording method therefor. SOLUTION: A recording head 9 has a large number of recording elements arranged in a predetermined direction and is scanned in a direction different from the predetermined direction to record an image based on an image signal on a material to be recorded fed in the predetermined direction at a predetermined pitch. A mask processing part 16 masks the pixel corresponding to the image signal to the end part in the sub-scanning direction of the recording head 9 by a mask pattern having a predetermined pattern at a time when the scanning of the recording head 9 is performed. When the material to be recorded is fed to perform next scanning, the pixel masked by the mask pattern to be thinned is interpolated by other pattern complementary with respect to the predetermined pattern. |
