PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stably developed toner image and the image of high resolution by providing a static eliminator which is arranged between a development device and a transfer device and selectively eliminate electrostatic on the surface of a photoreceptor drum where no toner is present. SOLUTION: Four sets of units provided with a photoreceptor drum 3 and a transfer roller 4 are arranged in order on a carrying passage of a medium l. A development device 13, the transfer roller 4 and a static eliminator 5 are arranged on the outer circumference of each photoreceptor drum 3. The static eliminator 5 applies the static eliminating light only when it is opposite to the non-print area of the photoreceptor drum 3. When the medium 1 is opposite to the photosensitive drum 3, and immediately before the medium is subjected to the transfer of the toner, i.e., in the part before the time t1 and the part on and after the time t2 after the transfer is completed, the photoreceptor drum 3 is static-eliminated by the static eliminator 5. The impedance is increased through static elimination for the units in which the transfer is not started or completed, and the fluctuation of the transfer electric field is suppressed. |
