PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bidirectional interactive system having a mechanism to secure coincidence of lines of sight between the dialogists who are distant from each other via a transmission means for the reduction of unnaturalness of the dialog by setting an image pickup part at a position that is higher than the eye position of a monitor image within an image display area set on a monitor. SOLUTION: At a spot A, a terminal equipment 20A displays the image of a dialogist 3B, etc., based on the image information sent from a terminal equipment 20B placed at a spot B via a transmission means 27. Both equipments 20A and 20B have the same constitution. Then the CCD cameras 5A and 5B are placed at the positions near the head positions of both dialogists 3A and 3B which are higher than their eye positions displayed on the screens of large monitor TV 1A and 1B. As a result, no special difficulty is caused for the bidirectional dialog. In other words, the coincidence is secured between the lines of sight of dialogists 3A and 3B just via the control of the setting height adjustment mechanisms 40A and 40B of chairs 4A and 4B. Thus, it's possible to secure the coincidence of lines of sight between both dialogists and to recognize these lines of sight without using any mechanical drive system. |
