PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily manufacture an air bag having a substantial depth by forming a slender rectangular notch on one of long edges, and forming a notch in the connecting point of two short edges. SOLUTION: An air bag blank 20 is made of plain weave, kneaded, and heat-set Nylon 6, 6 fiber. The blank 20 has a rectangular notch 22 and rectangular notches 26 and 28. The notches 26 and 28 are situated on the opposed corners of the blank 20 to form the opening part of the bag. To form the air bag, the blank 20 is folded along a central line 24 so that the notches 26 and 28 are mutually superposed, and the side surfaces are sewed together. It is then orthogonally opened to sew up the bottom part, and the upper part is sewed up so that one of both edges of the notch 26 touches the corresponding edge of the notch 28. Thereafter, the notch 22 is sewed up, and flaps 51 and 52 are folded and extended to form the opening part. |
