PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hardened material having a deep surface pattern and a high strength. SOLUTION: In this method for producing an inorganic plate by applying a solid hardenable material 2 consisting of calcium silicate to a wet green sheet 1 obtained by sheet forming from an aqueous slurry of a raw material and then curing and hardening, the solid hardenable material 2 is mixed with a water-absorbing gel material 3. The amount of the water-absorbing gel material added is about 0.1-5 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the solid hardenable material.
