POLYESTER RESIN COMPOSITION FOR SLIDING PART AND MOLDING PRODUCT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition capable of forming a sliding part excellent in appearance, low in friction coefficient and small in specific abrasion loss, useful in the field of OA instruments, by mixing a thermoplastic polyester resin with a specific fatty acid ester and a fatty acid metal salt in a prescribed ratio. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by mixing (A) 100 pts.wt. of a thermoplastic polyester resin (e.g. polybutylene terephthalate) with (B) 0.5-4 pts.wt. of a higher alcohol fatty acid ester (e.g. an ester of a 12-24C alcohol and a 12-24C fatty acid) and (C) 0.3-4 pts.wt. of a fatty acid metal salt [e.g. a salt of a 12-30C fatty acid and an alkaline (earth) metal]. Preferably the total amount of the components B and C is 1-5 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the component A in the composition.
