Alkaline fuel cell for co-generation of hydrogen peroxide. It comprises at least one hydrogen-diffusion anode 2, at least one oxygen-diffusion cathode 3 and an alkaline electrolyte 4 in a single compartment 22 which does not contain electrolyte-separating means, the said cell 1 being capable of co-generating hydrogen peroxide or its conjugate base. The anode 2 is fed with hydrogen or mixtures of gases which contain it, and the cathode 3 is fed with oxygen or a gas which contains it. The said alkaline electrolyte comprises hydroxides of Li, Na or K at a concentration lying between 0.001M and 10M, preferably between 0.1 and 2M. Use of the hydrogen peroxide co-generated in the bleaching of paper paste, in the bleaching of fabrics for the textile industry and as an element of a battery of cells. <IMAGE> |
