PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit which can correctly discriminate an HDTV signal and an analog broadcast system TV signal in a channel selection mode by producing an analog broadcast signal from the signal to be received when a 1st detection signal is detected and then producing a discrimination signal showing a highly sharp signal from the signal to be received when a 2nd detection signal is detected. SOLUTION: A simultaneous cast receiver consists of a tuner 110, the 1st and 2nd signal processors 120 and 130 which process the NTSCTV and HDTV signals separately from each other, and a display 180. A discrimination circuit includes the 1st and 2nd detectors 140 and 150, and a discrimination signal generator 160. A selector 170 selects the NTSCTV signal that is demodulated by the processor 120 or the HDTV signal that is demodulated by the processor 130 dependent on the discrimination signal produced by the discrimination circuit. Thus, the signal that is received via the channel selection can be correctly discriminated. |
