PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily install shield members in a manner capable of contacting with grounding contacts, by inserting elastic contact pieces extending from shield members into a cavity of a housing into which grounding contacts are press fitted, from through hole openings provided in the housing. SOLUTION: Contacts for a signal and grounding contacts 12b are press fitted into a cavity of a housing 20, and shield members 70 fitted on the outside of the housing 20 are made in contact with the grounding contacts 12b through elastic contact pieces 74 extending from the shield members. When this shield type board-mounting connector is assembled, the shield members 70 are arranged on the outside surface of the housing 20 and positioned through a flag parts 78. Thus, projections 22, 23 of the housing 20 are fitted into holes 91, 92 of the shield members 70, while the above-mentioned elastic contact pieces 74 are inserted from through hole openings communicating with the inside of the cavity from the outside. Then, the shield members 70 are moved in the direction of an arrow P, and the projections 22, 23 are respectively locked into the holes 91, 92.
