PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of part items of a circuit for detecting existence of a process cartridge, to lower the cost, and to improve the reliability of a device. SOLUTION: Output current of a charge generating circuit 200 to be supplied to a charge roller 450 inside of a process cartridge 500 is changed to a detecting voltage by a current/voltage converting circuit 700. An engine controller 600 reads in the detecting voltage per each constant period, and when the engine controller 600 discriminates that the data sampled within the constant time and more than the regulated voltage is generated more than the regulated times, the engine controller 600 discriminates the existence of the process cartridge. |
