PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric connector capable of avoiding improper control of contact pressure and breakage of the connector caused by a displacement of a female terminal mounting portion. SOLUTION: The electric connector comprises: a male connector 1 wherein a male terminal 18 having a spring portion 21 and a contact point 22 extending from the spring portion 21 is inserted in a terminal inserting slot, with the contact point 22 inserted into a fitting groove 7; and a female connector 2 coupled to the male connector 1 by fitting a female terminal fitting portion 31 having a female terminal 40 installed therein into the fitting groove 7, thereby forcing the female terminal 40 to bring into contact with the contact point 22 of the male terminal 18 against the elastic force generated by the spring portion 21. When the male and female connectors 1, 2 are coupled together the outward displacement of the female terminal mounting portion 31 caused by the reaction force from the spring portion 21 of the male terminal 18 is prevented by the wall surface of the fitting groove 7. |
