PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent degradation of electrifying performance and to maintain the steady output of a high-quality image over a long period of time by expelling toner mixed in a contact electrifier during the execution of an electrifying- member cleaning mode onto an image carrier effectively, sufficiently and securely at all times, in a cleanerless image-forming device of a contact electrification system and transfer system. SOLUTION: The cleanerless image-forming device of the contact electrification system and transfer system is provided with the electrifying-member cleaning mode for expelling mixed-in toner from the contact electrifier 2. The device is further provided with an auxiliary member 6 which is in contact with the image carrier 1 in the position which is further downstream than a toner-image transfer part T in the direction of the movement of the surface of the image carrier and between the toner-image transfer part T and an electrifying part (n). To the auxiliary member 6, biases can be applied. The bias applied to the auxiliary member 6 during the execution of the electrifying-member cleaning mode differs from the bias applied during image formation. |
