PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous system secondary battery with high voltage, high capacity, superior cycle characteristic, and high storage characteristic and cycle characteristic at high temperature. SOLUTION: In a nonaqueous system secondary battery having a negative active material capable of absorbing/releasing lithium ions, a positive active material comprising a lithium-containing complex oxide capable of absorbing/ releasing lithium ions, and a lithium ion conductive nonaqueous electrolyte, a spinel lithium manganese complex oxide represented by a general formula LiXMn(2- Y- Z) MYCrZO(4+ P) (where M represents Ni or Co, X, Y, Z, P are 0.85<=X<=1.2, 0<Y<0.5, 0<Z<1, 2Y+Z<=X, and P<=0), and having a potential of 4.5 V or higher with respect to Li/Li<+> is used as the positive active material. |
