PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound having MIP-α/RANTES receptor antagonism, and useful for preventing and treating diseases such as allergic diseases, inflammatory diseases and multiple sclerosis. SOLUTION: This new compound is shown by formula I [X<1> and Y<1> are each a (halogen-substituted) phenyl or pyridyl; R<1> is a (halogenated) 1-6C alkyl or the like], e.g. 1-(t-butoxycarbonyl)piperidin-4-yl N- 5-[4-(4-chlorophenyl)-4- hydroxypiperidino]-2,2-diphenylpentyl}carbamate. The compound of formula I is obtained by conventional alkylation of the amino group between a compound of formula II (L<1> is an eliminable group) and a compound of formula III. This new compound is useful for preventing and treating, in particular, such diseases as bronchial asthma, atopic dermatitis, allergic rhinitis, arteriosclerosis, arthrorheumatism, and nephritis.
