<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a selected menu item very easy to recognize and to improve the usability by displaying the number corresponding to the menu item selected by a selecting means on the screen of a display means. SOLUTION: Data for selecting an arbitrary menu item out of menu items given numbers displayed on the screen of a CRT 5 is inputted with up/down keys or a select key on a remote control 12 or console panel 10. A microcomputer 9 and an IC 13 for OSD displays the number corresponding to the selected menu item on the screen. Namely, the menu item given the menu number is displayed on the CRT 5 and selected with the up/down keys or select key and then the menu number made to correspond to the selected menu item is displayed on the screen. Here, the display characters, etc., of the selected menu item are varied in size and shape. Consequently, the selected menu item can be discriminated from other unselected items and is very easy to recognize, thereby facilitating the input operation.</p> |
