PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating liquid for a tooth, capable of improving durability of a coating membrane consisting essentially of a ceramic and vinyl acetate, hardly causing peel-off even after a long time passage since coating, and also safe in the human body by including a resin, a specific solvent and a repellent. SOLUTION: This coating liquid for a tooth comprises (A) 5-30 wt.% ceramic and resin, preferably vinyl acetate, and (B) a solvent consisting essentially of alcoholic solvent of >=C4 (e.g. ethanol), (C) a repellent preferably a silicone- based repellent (e.g. trimethylsiloxy silicic acid), and, if necessary, (D) 0.01-40 wt.% copolymer of N-methacryloyloxyethyl-N,N-dimethylammonium-α-N- methylcarboxybetaine and butyl methacrylate, which is not only a waterproof- providing agent but also a dispersing agent, and (E) a coloring component (e.g. titanium oxide) or the like.
