PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a diaphragm which is excellent in moldability, easily manufactured, and small in anisotropy of elasticity or the like while making good use of characteristics of organic fibers by impregnating nonwoven fabric, mechanically coupled by using random twining of organic fibers, with at least thermosetting resin and then molding and curing the resin. SOLUTION: The nonwoven fabric in use is formed by mechanically coupling fibers without using a binder and fusion fibers. The organic fibers are preferably about 1.0 to 3.0 denier and 5 to 60 mm fiber length. For example, paraoriented amide fibers and aromatic polyamide fibers such as PPTA are preferable. Here, less than 30 wt.% fibers of polypropylene are usable. Further, thermosetting resin such as unsaturable polyester resin can be used in combination and its amount is preferably 250-900 pts.wt. for 100 pts.wt. organic fibers 100 in consideration of moldability and properties of the diaphragm. |
