PRODUCTION OF CARBIDE FROM REFUSE-DERIVED SOLID FUEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a carbide from a refuse-derived solid fuel advantageous to the construction for effective reconversion and utilization of a refuse into resources by which a clean carbide at a high dechlorination ratio can be obtained from the refuse-derived solid fuel. SOLUTION: A refuse-derived solid fuel is carbonized by heating with a combustion gas from a combustion furnace 2 in a carbonizing apparatus in a low-oxygen atmosphere and the carbonized carbide is then washed with steam generated in a boiler 3 with the combustion gas in a dechlorinating apparatus 4 to remove chlorine components in the carbide. Thereby, the chlorine components in the carbide are removed at an ultrahigh dechlorinating ratio. As a result, the carbide is a clean one hardly containing the chlorine components which are toxic substances.
