PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power conversion device by which an AC power with an AC current whose harmonics are substantially reduced can be obtained even if the modulation rate of the voltage is changed over a wide range when a power is converted. SOLUTION: A chopper circuit 70 is connected to a PWM converter 40 through a smoothing capacitor 60. A PWM inverter 90 is connected to the chopper circuit 70. In the PWM converter 40, the voltage modulation factor is fixed to, for instance, 1.0 beforehand so as to make the distortion factor of the current waveform of an inputted AC power minimum. On the other hand, in the PWM inverter 90, an inputted DC power is converted into AC power and a voltage modulation factor is fixed to, for instance, 1.0 beforehand so as to make the distortion factor of the current of that AC power minimum. |
