PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a brake device operable even when a pressure sensor is broken by performing the control of an electric brake device on the basis of the proximate pressure of a pressure accumulator, when the pressure measurement of the pressure accumulator fails, without requiring the interruption of the brake device. SOLUTION: When the pressure of a pressure accumulator 44 is reduced to a prescribed value or lower, a pump 42 is operated. When the pressure measurement 46 of the pressure accumulator fails, the optimum control of brake pressure or the pump control which is the function of pressure of the pressure accumulator can not be performed. Thus, this device is designed so that the pressure of the pressure accumulator is proximately evaluated by a hydraulic model when the pressure measurement 46 fails. The pressure of the pressure accumulator can be thus evaluated by use of a general gas equation from the capacity change calculated from the capacity carried in and out from the pressure accumulator. Further, a reference point for supporting the model is introduced so as to prevent the wrong pressure evaluation of the pressure accumulator. The pressure calculation or evaluation is formed and used as the program of a control unit.
