PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mass produce a thin pole plate and prolong the life of a battery using this pole plate by forming a current collector of the pole plate through weaving, knitting, paper making processes or mixed paper making process of a conductive tin dioxide fiber. SOLUTION: A current collector is formed as a pole plate having a thickness of about 2.0 mm or less by weaving, knitting or paper making processes of a conductive tin dioxide fiber, having a specific resistance of 10<2>Ω.cm or less. Otherwise, it is formed by the mixed paper making process of the conductive tin dioxide fiber with a synthetic pulp or polyolefin base fiber. The conductive tin dioxide fiber can be improved significantly in conductivity by including an impurity such as antimony in tin dioxide. A porous current collector can be continuously manufactured by weaving, knitting or paper making processes, without requiring a perforating work. When this current collector is used, a large effect can be provided in a thin pole plate, since the conductivity can be imparted to the whole active material because of the extremely fine conductive network.
