PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject cosmetic capable of forming stable multilayer separated state, free from any stickiness or sliminess, and useful as e.g. a cream, hair trimming agent, bath cosmetic, by including a specific nonionic surfactant, oily component, water, a polyhydric alcohol and a water-soluble salt. SOLUTION: This cosmetic is obtained by including (A) 1.0-50.0 wt.% of a nonionic surfactant selected from esp. pref. polyoxyethylene (n=3 to 50)oleyl ether, polyoxyethylene(n=2 to 12)diisostearate and the like, (B) 10.0-78.0 wt.% of an oily component such as liquid paraffin, (C) 10.0-78.0 wt.% of water, (D) 10.0-78.0 wt.% of a polyhydric alcohol such as hexylene glycol, and (E) 1.0-25.0 wt.% of a water-soluble salt such as sodium chloride.
