PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust the amplifier gain of each optical amplifier by transmitting a state of each optical amplifier to an exchange station and a relay station via a supervisory channel and monitoring it. SOLUTION: This system is provided with optical terminal station equipments 100, 150 that generate and decode an optical signal of a monitor channel, multiplex a data channel consisting of pluralities of optical signals with different wavelength sets and the monitor channel and send/receive the multiplexed signal and with pluralities of optical amplifier sections 110, 120, 130, 140 which are placed on a transmission line connecting to the optical terminal station equipments 100, 150, amplify the optical signal of the data channel over a prescribed wavelength range to have a flat gain in response to information of the optical signal of the monitor channel and insert the state information of its own station to the monitor channel when the optical terminal station equipments 100, 150 request state information of its own station. |
