A two-piece articulated shell mold (104, 105) closes from the sides over the edges of the mounting sole and upper, on the last (102). A two-part mold (106, 107) forms molding cavity sides for the sole, fitting around the block (108) forming the rear of the cavity and structuring the sole surface. The top of the cavity is closed by the support (103), blank and shell. The assembly enters the injection station and includes a last (102) and support (103) for the footwear blank comprising an upper and first mounting sole. Independent claims are included. The first is for the method of making footwear e.g. slippers, by injecting the wearing sole, using the equipment described. The second covers the article of footwear so produced. Preferred features: Half-shells are pivoted at the one end; the other having a support (114, 115) resting on surfaces (117, 118) carried by a traverse (16) fixed to the last (102), when the half-shells are closed around the last (102). The machine has a carrousel carrying numbers of such assemblies.
