The tooth brush has a semi-cylindrical head at the end of a plastics rod which houses a negative electrode in contact with the brush bristles. The rod and brush are interchangeably fitted to a metal tube of hexagonal section to allow it to be easily rotated between the fingers. The tube represents the positive electrode, with the electrical potential supplied by batteries housed inside the metal tube. The negative charge at the bristles assists removal of bacteria.
