The bridge part of the ring-pull divides the closure tab into at least two parts which break apart and bend when the lip around the bridge part is bent. A tab (5) formed in one of the end walls (3) of the can (1) is also joined to the end wall by a bridge formed by a relatively thin region of the end wall. A bendable lip is joined to the can end wall close to the tab, a small lip section being on one side of the join, and a large lip section being on the other side. Bending the large lip section in the opposite direction to the can end wall forces the small lip section to be bent in towards the end wall and against the tab, breaking it open.
