The entry system has a display (2) divided into different data fields (4,5,6,7) associated with different functions. A pair of buttons (11,12) on the steering wheel allow scrolling between these fields and selection of a particular field. A second pair of buttons (13,14) on the steering wheel allow validation of and exit from the selection to activate the chosen function. A voice synthesizer (15) delivers a message corresponding to the fields during scrolling.
