The restraint of horned animals during artificial insemination, where the animals head is held in a pendulum type device which can be operated remotely. The head of the animal is held in a pendulum type device, which can be operated from a distance. The central bar (5) of the head holder can be swung from side to side by pulling on a rope (8). This enables the holder to be opened for the animal to insert its head, then closed to hold it in place from a distance. The body of the animal is kept in position by a restraining gate (8) which is placed along its side and held in place by a chain (11).
