The cut flowers are placed in a flexible vase or water pocket, which is supported mechanically by a ring (3) holding the edges of the vase. A plate (2) is placed under the bottom of the vase and its height adjusted to suit the volume of the bouquet. A flexible tube (5) is introduced into the interior of the vase and used to fill it with water after the bouquet has been put into the vase. A solenoid valve is used to control filling with water. The tube is then removed.
