The mirror uses a base of either lime and soda glass or an organic plastic such as polycarbonate. A layer of titanium having a thickness preferably of 20-60nm is applied to the side of the base remote from the viewer and a further layer of metallic chrome preferably 20-50nm thick is applied to the titanium. The combined thickness of the two layers should be between 45-55nm.
