Hydraulic brake device for vehicles with pedal crank drive

The hydraulic brake device, e.g. for bicycles, includes a hydraulic brake for at least one wheel. There is at least one main brake cylinder (100) operated by back-pedalling, which turns the pedal crankshaft and activates the wheel braking device. The longitudinal axis (3) of the main brake cylinder intersects the longitudinal axis (8) of the pedal crankshaft. The bicycle may have an angled frame tube going to the handlebars, or a saddle frame tube (2), or a pedal bearing casing (4), with the main brake cylinder either in one of the tubes or below the pedal bearing casing.
