Weaving face-to face patterned double carpets for splitting

When an interconnecting transition of a lower weave pile warp thread occurs in the weft direction, to form a corresponding upper weave thread, achieving figuring, a doubled pile is woven in. An Independent claim is included for the corresponding weave. Preferred features: In lower and upper weaves, four or more dead pile warp threads are bound into one reed opening. The doubled pile is woven with transitions, following a straight line sequence along the warp. With such a transition, the next figuring warp thread is woven into the first, or a previous reed opening, together with the previous figuring thread. Alternatively, on such transition the previous figuring pile thread is woven in the second or a following reed opening, together with the next figuring pile thread.
