<p>A wheel changing device is provided for a CNC machine tool having a rotatable spindle (22) for carrying at least one grinding wheel (31, 32, 33). The wheel changing device has a wheel pack holder body (12) rotatable about an axis (B) parallel to the axis of rotation (A) of the spindle (22), and clamping jaws (51, 52) provided at circumferentially spaced locations around the axis (B) for holding two or more wheel packs (30, 40). Separate coolant pipe arrangements (65, 66) are provided for each wheel pack (30, 40), the coolant pipes (65, 66) being supplied from a coolant supply block (60) mounted on the wheel pack holder body (12). The provision of separate coolant arrangements for each wheel pack (30, 40) enables a more rapid change-over when it is desired to change the wheel pack on the spindle during a grinding cycle.</p> |
