The caliper (1) grips over the radial edge of the brake disc and has parallel caliper arm (2,3) extending on both sides of the brake disc. The caliper arms are joined by a bridge piece (4) axially protruding over the radial brake disc edge. The bridge piece has at least one load-relieving notch (8) at the join between the bridge piece and the arms and faces radially inwards.
