Size removal and individual separation treatment of fibers

Fibers are subjected to size removal and individual separation by contact with a weak alkaline solution while the fibers are connected as one of the electrodes used for creating an electric field. Preferred Feature: The fibers are connected as cathodes. Electrically nonconductive fiber structures are subjected to the above treatment by providing auxiliary electrodes in their immediate vicinity.
