Photoprotective compositions comprising (a) one or more triazine UV filters and (b) one or more dialkyl maleates of formula R1OOC-CH=CH-COOR2 are new. R1, R2 = 6-24C alkyl. Also claimed is the use of dialkyl maleates as solvents or solubilising agents for triazine derivatives, preferably for use in photoprotective compositions.
